If you like action this was a good movie. There's not a lot of character development and even though they do try to make him care for people "Your weakness is your sense of morality". During the 45 minute fight with Zod (okay exaggerated), several buildings are ruined and it doesn't faze him.
Best Superman movie ever made! Just like Batman Begins, slow first movie really explaining the origin. Movie 2 and 3 will be more like the Superman we know, but in this film he was finding himself. He didn't really know his limitless powers or where he came from. Really well done.
I enjoyed it. I think it was a good start to an iconic character. They would definitely need to make another before they can even think about a Justice League film. My biggest problem with it was them not making it so kids could watch it. It was definitely not a kid friendly Superman movie.
This charter should be read and understood by all guild members. If you have any questions or remarks do not hesitate to contact an officer or the New Dawn Leadership.
The following is a list of requirements for all members of New Dawn:
Be Respectful - of everyone that you meet in game, on the forums, or during New Dawn events. Willing to help - Help out around the guild whenever you can. Willing to listen - Help guild members with their problems, and listen to new ideas. Communicate - Talk in guild chat, forums, and Ventrilo communicating problems and ideas. Knowledgeable - No one knows everything, but try to maintain a good knowledge of the game. Committed – Officers should be committed to the New Dawn members and the positive advancement of the Guild. Positive attitude - Members are expected to have a positive attitude in guild chat, on the New Dawn forums, and Ventrilo. Doubts and concerns may be expressed to officers on the New Dawn forums.
Officers are role models for the new
members of the New Dawn. Officers should act, as we would like all members to
act. Abuse of the officers’ powers is not permitted. If you feel an officer is
abusing their power, please inform any of the New Dawn Leaders.
Multi-game Structure
The overall organization is considered
the “Guild” with “Chapters” established in the various games we play. The New
Dawn Charter, Rules of Conduct, and Officer Rules provide the minimum standards
that each New Dawn Chapter must adhere. Each chapter has the ability to create
requirements that go beyond the minimum standards defined in the New Dawn
documents.
Each Chapter Leader has the ability
to recruit, change their rank structure, and promote members from the ranks of Recruit
through Senior Member/Mentor.
Ranks & Promotions
Promotions are based on a few key
ideals: Desire, maturity, loyalty, participation, friendliness, and
personality. Ranks are here to give member goals they can strive for within the
guild. They are not intended to make others feel unimportant. Every single
member, from Recruits to the Chapter Leader, is valued and
respected.
Promotions are not forced upon our
members without their knowledge or consent. Promotions are earned through
specific steps as determined on a per-chapter basis. To be promoted, members
must step up and volunteer in the positive advancement of the guild. Each New
Dawn chapter may have its own specific rank structure, but the basic New Dawn
ranks are described below.
· Recruit (Trial)
Potential new members may receive an in game invitation and be given the rank of Recruit prior to filling out an application. All players will remain a Recruit until they pass the 2 to 4 week trial period for all new members. To pass the trial period, the recruit must attempt to integrate with the guild, read the Guild Charter and Rules of Conduct, and fill out an application using the Guild Application link. Integration can include a number of actions such as participating in chat, vent, or grouping with other members. If a new Recruit joins and never makes an effort to integrate with the guild, or fails to fill out an application, Chapter Leaders and Chapter Officers may discuss removal. Any friends or family of current New Dawn members may skip the trial period, but must submit an application prior to member promotion.
· Member
To attain Member status you must
pass the 2 to 4 week trial period, agree to the Guild Charter, and the Rules of
Conduct.
· Senior Member
Senior Members have the right to
invite, schedule guild activities, and lead non-official guild raids. Senior
Members are expected to be respectful and helpful in the guild. Senior Members
are members who have been with the guild for an extended period of time and
have distinguished themselves in many areas.
The Chapter Officer(s), with the
approval of the Chapter Leader, appoints new Senior Members.
· Mentor
Retains the responsibilities and
privileges of Senior Member. These are generally players who have a vast
knowledge of their class and are willing to share information with others.
During a raid, the Mentors are the individuals that keep an eye on other
members of their particular class. Mentors provide feedback to the new members
based on what they observed, and point out ways to improve gameplay. Mentors
recognize that there is more than one way to play a class and encourage other
members to have a good time, while improving their skills in their class.
The Chapter Officer(s), with the
approval of the Chapter Leader, appoints new Mentors.
· Guild Elder
These are players who have been
around New Dawn for a long time and have been an integral part of what our
community has become. Their insight and wisdom has been a guiding light
for the guild in the past and where it will be headed in the future. As a guild
we want to honor these individuals and their contributions to New Dawn.
· Chapter Officer
Retains the responsibilities and privileges of a Mentor, and they have the right to enforce disciplinary action within their chapter. Chapter Officers have the ability to remove members within their chapter in extreme circumstances.
Chapter Leaders, and Chapter Officers appoint new officers to their chapter.
· Chapter Leader
The rank of Chapter Leader retains the responsibilities and privileges of a Chapter Officer. The Chapter Leader is also responsible for ensuring that their Chapter Officers, and Chapter Members adhere to the minimum standards defined by New Dawn. Chapter Leaders can promote members from the ranks of Recruit through Chapter Officer, and remove members from their Chapter using the New Dawn Member Removal Process.
The New Dawn Leadership appoints
Chapter Leaders.
· New Dawn Leader
The rank of New Dawn Leader contains
all of the responsibilities and privileges of Chapter Leader. In addition, the
New Dawn Leadership may veto any action put in place by Chapter Leaders, or
Chapter Officers if they go against the guild charter. New Dawn Leaders are
responsible for ensuring that New Dawn continues to remain a positive
environment for all New Dawn members.
Note that while the Guild has no
formal democratic structure, New Dawn leaders and officers will take the wishes
of the members into account whenever possible.
In order to change the Guild
Charter, Rules Of Conduct, or Officer Rules the New Dawn
Leadership will render a decision.
Communication
The main means of communicating with
each other is the New Dawn forum. Members should use the forums to tell the
rest of the guild about your game experiences, post screenshots, form parties
to do instances, plan raids, and check for news from the New Dawn Leadership.
Check the forums often!
New Dawn uses Ventrilo so we can
talk with other members while in game. This speeds up playing and increases the
success of partying. To use Ventrilo you need a headset with a microphone, and
the Ventrilo client, which can be downloaded at www.ventrilo.com.
The info for the Ventrilo server will be given to you in game. In order
to be considered for certain Player versus Environment (PvE) content it is highly
recommended that you have Ventrilo, even if you can only listen.
Guild Events
New Dawn Members can organize events such as instance runs, raids, and Player versus Player (PvP). It is encouraged that Members try to get as involved as possible with these events if they have characters suitable for them, but not mandatory. We will be trying to setup events for as wide a range of players as possible.
Invites to official guild raids will be based on the following priority:
1. For New Dawn raids, players with the rank of Member or higher have priority to all scheduled events. Players must show up on time and be prepared (defined be chapter leadership).
2. Members with multiple characters should make sure that other members have an opportunity to participate in guild raids before raiding with alternative characters.
3. Members may be asked to step out of a raid for any other member of the guild if they are not pulling their weight. This will only be done in extreme circumstances and only as a last resort.
4. Chapter Leaders are mandated to find a balance between in game content qualifications, and ensuring that their New Dawn Chapter provides an opportunity for all members to be involved in PVE and PVP content. Minimum requirements will be defined by the chapter leaders, and can be used by raid leaders to ensure that the raid members are prepared for the raid.
